Of the Skies

Modern hard rock/alt. metal band with Good Life Records, based out of Omaha, NE, whose sonic profile may as well originate from beyond the skies of this world. Thunderous drums, rhythm and bass guitars bring a crushing gravity like that of a blackhole, to the backdrop of electronics and synths that dance about like charged electrons. Post-Rock inspired texturized guitar flashes about like lightning, as celestial vocals accompany harrowing screams that penetrate the very fabric of the soul. Their music bears a duality: heaviness and gravity, contrasted with atmospheric expansiveness. In a scene where blending genres has become more common, Of The Skies stands out by committing to both sides - the metal aspect AND the ambience/texture aspect. That gives them room to appeal to fans of purely heavy music with their wall of sound, as well as those drawn to dynamic nuance, layered atmosphere, and emotional depth
